Power of 10

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Some say, “I don’t think that far ahead.” Other’s say, “Why would you think that far ahead?” And then there’s those of us that have laid out plans and schematics during that timeframe. Wherever you fall on that spectrum, keep in mind that your measure of personal and/or professional success is there with you.

Facts! Because your personal/professional outlook for your life is based on your ability to envision your reality before it comes to pass, it is necessary to see your life from a futuristic standpoint, and here is one example that could literally assist and change your life, The Power of 10.

I first came to recognize “The Power of 10”, my term, in the early 90’s reading the life stories of influential and successful people within their sphere of work. Although there is no conclusive rhyme or reason, I noticed that many were at the height of their careers at the 10-year mark, and I became curious as to if there was a formula of some sort to success.

I dove into looking for answers that might not have possibly existed, but I figured it was worth a shot. I then researched the number 10 to find if it had magical powers of some sort. Here’s some of what I found:

• This number 10 denoted numeric coherence from numeric diversity, Ex. 1+2+3+4=10 (Britannica, 2023)

• 10 was the Pythagorean symbol of perfection or completeness according to Britannica (2023). 

• According to All Crystal (2022), the number 10 refers to dynamic and transformative energy concomitant with new beginnings, manifestation, and personal growth. 

There were so many more connective definitions, but all seem to be relevant to those listed above, so I decided to use these as my basis for my understanding of The Power of 10. There is a mental, physical, and spiritual connection to The Power of 10. 

Mentally, because we are beings of the human race seeking coherence within our diversity, we’d be remised to not acknowledge the synchronicity and simplicity of the amalgamation of a group of numbers coming together perfectly to the sum of 10. That cohesion signifies the power of the human mind to bring random thoughts, ideas, and/or people together for a common purpose. That purpose is the beginning of your success journey.

Next, being the symbol of perfection or completeness, achieving a “perfect 10" as it is often equated to meaning, could symbolize the attainment of one's goals, reaching a state of fulfillment, or mastering a skill or craft to its fullest extent. Each of these gives illumination to the fact that a well-crafted trajectory consisting of goal setting, continuous work, and a relentless drive will bring forth the very thing sought after in our physical nature. So, the second step towards your success journey is the understanding of goal-setting and purposed work.

Finally, from a meta-physical perspective according to All Crystal (2022), 10 represents new beginnings, manifestation, and personal growth. According to Larry Carter (2023), 10 is a powerful symbol of spiritual growth and the realization of one’s true potential that reminds us to stay the course and trust our divine nature. It is from this we can extract that our success comes from divine collaboration and again, relentless pursuit.

It all became clear to me that when I read of various artists, influencers, and healers back then, I did not have a clear definition of the “Power of 10”, but some years later after traveling the vary path they did in their own respective sphere, I am now able to define the meaning of the “Power of 10” to all in this format:

1. Determine and Know your Purpose.

2. Set goals that align to your purposed work. 

3. Stay on the course regardless of the adversity. Trust your divineness while collaborating with the Divine Creator.
